FreeZeArt Saviour

Freezed? I don't think so ^^

supposedly this post is the WIP for the base but the base turned out to be.....ughh, i don't wanna recall that...i tried to make the base to have multiple patterns with different colors combination but since i am using spray cans (cheap one) and it turned out to be very very ugly, messy and fail.....so i make the base to be completely white since FZA Saviour is in dark color scheme...

noticed the different pose rather like in previous post? i'll tell about it below ^^

rather than being in dark gray and white color, i added black, gold and silver with my markers...added also some numbering from my Revell MiG-31 FoxHound waterslide decals ^^

23 is Saviour's cone number while 01 is to mark that this is the first one in my FreeZeArt lineups ^_^ hoho...more will come soon ;)

with added colors, the shield looks like in original pattern with different colors ^^;;

gotta love the angles that the back cannons were mounted at..

for the stand, i took a long plastic rod from runners and heated it to make it bend..and Saviour is mounted on the stand by plugging the rod into the extra thruster ;D

although the color scheme is dark, but my insignia at the right wing still can be seen lol '_^

one thing that i forgot to mentioned earlier is that actually the joint mod i'd done to the elbow was successful!!
now see the pictures below ^^

first, default postion...

using a plastic rod, a ball polycap and a hinge-and rotating polycap, i managed to give some mobility to the elbow and it is good for an amateur like me lol

now...

it bends!!!! the lower arm can be raised about 85' lol ^^

plus, using the ball PC gave me another mobility which is..

the lower arm can be rotated at the elbow!! and this allow shooting pose to be achieved as natural as a normal HG do lol

this is the early post that can be seen in previous post...but i think the shooting pose is cooler than this ^^

front shot...its great to see that i managed to complete this work

i like the way how the back cannon is 'freezed'..despite i said it being 'freezed', the joints can still be moved but i didnt want to do so..and the mount for the cannons actually broke when i dropped it onto my table (about 20 cm)..from that height the mount broke (maybe due to me shaving the mount thin) and luckily got superglue at my side lol..

the stand....and i wish that i'll never show this in the future orz...the loop is caused by overheating and had to roll it so that the rod wont 'cut' off..

overall i think that this work is quite great and it make a major improvement to NG 1/144 kits...although it didnt have good articulations, but making it to be in great pose is much much better than just standing like this.......

haha...serve you right lol XD

now, i do feels a bit relieved since i managed to finish all of my worklogs before my SPM results came out lol...tomorrow lol...dunno what will happen after thursday ^^;;
but at least i dont have 'debt' with my Gunplas lol

and also, check out the WIP too ^^

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

enjoy lol ^^
and yes, my blog reached more than 2000 views now ^^ thanks for all the supports lol ^^

FreeZeArt Saviour Part 3

indeed it's almost all grey..

touching all main highlights during the build in this post..but first...

I FINALLY GOT A DESIGN KNIFE LOL!!(whats the happening actually? its just a design knife afterall..)
and its not the pricey Tamiya or Bandai just a cheap version...but i am satisfied with it~only cost RM6.90 and got 2 extra blades~

sharp is it? i found it is very useful especially for scratching of anything since we can get more control using this~

so the highlights for the WIP are...

the v-fin...Saviour's V-fin is design so that it can folds up during transformation (nah, this one cant do it..) so i'm making it to look untransformable by sanding it..the left is sanded and the right is default design ^^

the wings got secondary pegs (arrow) to make it be positioned at un-deployed state so i removed it...in the picture i already sanded it

and i also put my personal insignia(circle) on the wings~ well its ZD custom~

for dynamic looks, i 'freezed' the wing at this angle...since the mount is already mounted at an angle..now it looks like Hyaku Shiki lol

since i make the front and side skirts to look independently, so used a pin to help mounting the armors

the torso and the waist with the armors glued on...dynamic feels achieved~

for an easy minor detailing (cheap also).....

added extra thruster at the tail fin...the thruster is taken from the tip's cap of a ballpen.its very advantages are that the shape is quite real, already chromed and even got different chrome for the inner side lol ^^

done with the add-ons of whatever...time for full painting!!

*doing masking*

*shakes can*

*sprays*

*chokes*

*runs outside room*

wuaahhh fresh air~

*sprayed own hand*

ORZ

*opens maskings*

ORZ...painting flaw!!

so, after hours of paintjobs....

it is done~FZA Saviour is done~really looks like Hyaku Shiki lol~ actually there's painting flaw a bit and will fix it for the final post lol...
then, make the display base then...the stand i'm using is a DIY variable holder made using rock and steel wire lol...pretty flexible~

for the base...

yes FreeZeArt!!

and a test-shoot...
gonna make something like this and will add wordings like 01 and Saviour ^^

well then, thats all now!!

FreeZeArt Saviour Part 2 (plus some randomness)

table management, i think?

better say some progress on FZA Saviour then--after the work in recent post, i found that i'm facing a hard time due to the state of my work desk, which is Unmanaged lol

for imagining purpose, there were lots of thing on the desk then. from tools, phone card, cardboard, gunpla that i'm currently working on, trash, plastic gates, etc etc..i assume that no one other than me will gonna work on this desk lol
easy to say, if you dropped a piece of part on the desk, you might spend some time searching for it ^^;;

so, i decided to do some cleaning and manage my stuff at the same time...so, took some boxes and..

there you go! nice and clean! ideal for any work lol! this is how a modeler's desk should be lol ^^
i used such boxes to manage my stuff so that they wont be scattering on the table

so..

first box= tools and markers + precaution item lol
and that box is used temporarily to keep parts of FZA Saviour

next..

keeping polycaps and sandpapers..the white tray is for keeping SB items ^^

enough showing the table..lets go to the real topic...
there are no WIP pictures since i got too focused working on this ^^;;
but there are some things that i will highlight then

current state of FZA Saviur now..this is the pose that i will freeze it into..for the left front skirt armor, i'd used a pin for mounting it to the hip but i accidentally dropped it onto the messy desk and had to scrambled the stuffs to find it but didnt find it orz..so had to make another mounting pin (this cause me to clean the desk lol) BTW i found the pin while cleaning the desk ^^;;

apart from how i mount the skirt armor, the back cannon is another issue.the mounts of the cannon made the cannon to be positioned paralell to each other and looks boring...to give the dynamic look, i scratched some plastic at the mount so that it can be aligned to certain angle when being mounted....and the picture shows the results..much much better and will do the same to the wings also ^^

i also had attached the torso to the hip and make it to look like the waist is twisted a bit (dynamic look lol) at this time the shoulder parts is cemented
also noticed that thats the progress for the paint job...my white spray had been used up and i only managed to use it on the left leg only orz..need to buy another can..so, just only need to complete the paint job and make the base and FZA Saviour will be done!!

and...

i know that some people wanna see this...i had abandoned it for a while due to my laziness lol

YES!the GN Sword X is finished now!!! and the only thing that i had to do is to attach the components of the beam parts together to form the RaiXer Sword ^^;; and i think the next post will be the review for GN Sword X lol
and that is the color for X...black and silver ^^ from the votes lol and the blue is from Gundam Marker (first GM!!) haha

FreeZeArt Saviour Part 1

FreeZeArt!!

why FreeZeArt? well, basically i'm making my kits into non-posable, quite similar normal figure or something like that..and most important, i'm using NG 1/144 kits that are famous for their lack of joints lol

i choose to name it as FreeZeArt since i want to 'freeze' it into a certain pose with the least number of articulations achievable..Art? well, i always describe Gunpla-mod as a techncal art ^^
and for the capital Z, well, you know, stands for ZoiDiect/ZD lol

however, this NG kits, in this case Saviour, only capable of standing upright so i had to mod it to make it capable of making dynamic poses.

befor i got this FreeZeArt idea, i want to make my saviour to be posable but making joints for NG 1/144 kits is way too far for my current skills orz

some parts that i give heavy mods.the elbow joint actually can move and is bendable for 85' lol...but for the knee joint, i make it to be fixed at 90' bend...thats is the maximum that i can pull with my current skills now..

so, here some pics on poses that i make as preview before making any progress ^^

as for now, i didnt hesitate about coloring and maybe i will make it into full dark gray except for the face-piece lol (kinda lazy to make multiple color ^^;;)

but then, this is another project i'd put into my list for mod works (GN Sword X demands my attention lol)

now then, still dealing with some seamlines and will make a special base for it ^^
