Crab Raking @ Thompson Beach

oh yes, it's weekend and i'm up to trying out something new

hello Thompson Beach, SA



basically, there were like different options for catching crabs, either be crabbing (using special net) or raking (suing crab rake). this time we went for crab-raking, which turns to be something pretty cool :D

yeap, the shallow part is just that far. i am myself even wondered, "where the heck is the sea?"


so, the thing is basically going through the seaweeds with the rake, poking them and trying to provoke the crabs. if it is working, you will hear the sound of metals tingling repeatedly, indication rebellion of the crabs. once detected, it's just the matter of raking the crabs and..

into the freezer box!

and oh yes, the size is enourmous. in fact, the first catch of the trip (i caught it btw XD) was like waving beside the water walkway, freaking me out in shock. but well, into the pail she goes XD

and these are looking good. very very good :3

mmmmm hefty haul :3

pretty much half of the total catch. we got like 40++ :D

so what to do with them?
